The idea of being able to create something from a simple thought is incredible. I am able to communicate an idea in endless ways; there are no boundaries in art. Nothing is ever constant and I am given the opportunity to alter emotions. When I have created something that I am happy with, it’s an amazing feeling.
Ever mindful of the first line on a chosen piece of paper. A line can be a path, a direction, an intersection of space or a dividing line. Balancing space and creating dimensions is an attempt to keep your eyes moving. The challenge is to balance the intensity of colours that are juxtaposed to each other, while invoking an emotion. Colours come from personal experiences and challenges.
Striving to create an interest so that the viewer stops to look, interact with the work and in doing so establishes a rapport. The images have their own story and identity that never existed before and wish to have a relationship with the viewer. To enter, to travel through, to identify with, to feel at ease with, to recognize an emotion from the past, to forward to the next day.
